“Effective culture shaping must be leader led and focused on inspiring greater commitment to living the organization's purpose and values . I have been rewarded both personally and professionally from helping facilitate this shift toward creating healthier, higher performing individuals and teams, leading to greater business results for the clients I have served.”

Jim Maxon

Consultant

Jim's personal journey of understanding the principles that drive our experience of life, along with his knowledge of the processes and tools that can help shape organizational culture, uniquely equip him to impact the spirit and performance, at the individual, team and organizational level, of the clients he serves. Jim's love for his work comes from the influence that this understanding has had in his personal life and the difference culture shaping has made in creating better relationships and healthier work environments for his clients, leading them toward building stronger teams and achieving better business results.

During his 12 years at Senn Delaney, Jim has consulted in numerous client engagements, including Navistar, Edison International, McDonald's, Tennessee Valley Authority and Nationwide. Jim began his career working as an expatriate in Mexico City, and is fluent in Spanish. He has led specific culture-shaping projects in Mexico and Latin America for Navistar, Nortel Networks, Bayer Diagnostics, Citigroup and Ford Motor Co.

Jim brings a broad entrepreneurial business background of more than 30 years to his consulting. He has owned, operated and marketed services and products in wholesale distribution, light manufacturing, import-export, retail and agribusiness. His business background and his experience at Senn Delaney have equipped Jim with strong skills in developing leadership at all management levels, particularly at the supervisor level.

Prior to his graduate business studies at The Garvin School of International Management (Thunderbird), Jim earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in political science and international relations at the University of Texas-El Paso and Southern Methodist University respectively. His early curiosity in learning about different cultures laid the foundation for his understanding of how organizational culture drives spirit and performance.

Jim lives in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and has two adult children. He devotes some of his free time to reading, travel, hiking and backpacking. In addition, he facilitates principle-based programs that focus on transforming the lives of those suffering from addictions, broken relationships, grief and physical challenges. Jim also devotes many volunteer hours to humanitarian service and personal leadership development as a member of Rotary International.
